Baidu Brings OpenClaw AI to 700 Million Users via Search App
Baidu is integrating OpenClaw directly into their search app, bringing AI agent capabilities to 700 million monthly active users in China.
OpenClaw Just Went Mainstream in China
Baidu — China’s largest search engine — is integrating OpenClaw directly into their main search app, putting AI agent capabilities in front of 700 million monthly active users.
That’s not a typo. 700 million people will soon be able to message an OpenClaw-powered AI agent right from the app they already use every day.
What Users Get
Through the Baidu integration, users can interact with an OpenClaw agent to:
- Schedule and organize — manage calendars, set reminders, coordinate plans
- Handle files — organize documents, extract information, summarize content
- Write and run code — generate scripts, debug problems, automate tasks
Until now, OpenClaw was primarily accessible through WhatsApp and Telegram. This integration marks the first time OpenClaw is embedded natively inside a major search platform — and it changes the scale of the ecosystem overnight.
China’s Tech Giants Are All In
Baidu isn’t alone. Alibaba and Tencent are also running OpenClaw on their cloud platforms, signaling broad confidence in the agent framework across China’s biggest tech companies.
The timing is deliberate — the rollout comes just ahead of Lunar New Year, when app usage surges and companies race to capture attention. Chinese tech giants are clearly betting that AI agents are the next major engagement layer, and OpenClaw is the infrastructure they’re building on.
What This Means for the Community
If you’re learning OpenClaw or building with it, this is massive validation.
The skills you’re developing — configuring agents, writing prompts, building workflows, managing multi-channel deployments — are now directly relevant to products serving hundreds of millions of users. The demand for people who understand how to build, customize, and secure OpenClaw agents is about to grow significantly.
Every integration at this scale also means more contributions, more plugins, more documentation, and a stronger ecosystem for everyone.
